Visit to the High Court of Karnataka

Visit to the High Court of Karnataka
For the first time, in the history of St. Joseph's College, 47 AICUFers visited the High Court of Karnataka, situated opposite to Vidhana Saudha, Bangalore, Cubbon Park. It was through the help of a lawyer and Jesuit priest Praveen Hrudayaraj, that the AICUFers got the permission. AICUFers are really grateful to him. The AICUFers were divided into groups and attended the legal case sessions held in different court rooms. It was on 27 February 2015.

Visit to Bangalore Central Jail

Visit to Bangalore Central Jail
It was a remarkable day in the history of St. Joseph's College. On 24th February 2015, 51 AICUFers along with Dr. Fr. Praveen Martis SJ, Principal, and Dr. Melwin Colaco, AICUF Staff Animator, visited the Bangalore Central Jail. All the AICUFers went by a college bus of St. Joseph's PU College and our own College car. Inside the bus, the AICUFers had singing and they also played many games such as housie-housie. The AICUFers reached the destination at 3:45 pm. They were taken to see the facilities available in the jail such as the printing press, carpentry, bakery, iron works, library, kitchen, play grounds and so on. The women AICUFers had the privilege to visit the Women Cell in the jail. The AICUFers also got the opportunity to perform 10 minutes of cultural programme for the jail inmates. After having gone rounds, the Chief Superintendent of the Jail, addressed the AICUFers and gave tea and cake (prepared by the inmates). At 6:45 pm, the AICUFers left the place and headed back to the college.
